Hwy 1 - Carmel to Cambria Roadway Closed

HIGHWAY 1 FULLY CLOSED 25 MILES SOUTH OF BIG SUR

Highway 1 (Post Mile 22), 25 miles south of Big Sur is fully closed indefinitely in both directions due to a large rock slide near Limekiln Creek. Caltrans crews are on the scene monitoring and assessing the damage.

There is no estimated time as to when the highway will re-open.

Travelers are advised to use alternate routes below:

Headed North: From Hwy 1, Take 46 E, 101 N, 68 W

Headed South: From Hwy 1, Take 68 E, 101 S (Take 46 W if you wish to get back on Hwy 1)
