SummerWood Winery & Inn
This quaint, nine-room guest inn is re-opening on October 1, 2013 after undergoing an extensive interior and exterior renovation. All guest suites have been upgraded along with the inn’s 9,000 square-foot entrance, grand living room, and dining room with the addition of an open-air demonstration kitchen and an outdoor dining space for inn guests. The property will begin the second phase of the renovation in Spring 2014, with the addition of culinary gardens and walking paths throughout the property. Artisan features wines on tap, a greener way to serve wine. Artisan has four wine taps with the ability for guests to order by the glass, half carafe or full carafe. • Spirits News:
Artisan’s new full bar offers a selection of seasonal craft cocktails using fresh ingredients. All cocktails are made with premium spirits, freshly squeezed juices and are built by hand and measured to be consistent. Also offered are spirit flights, giving guests an opportunity to taste a variety with classics spirits like rye whiskey, mezcal and absinthe.
• Menu News:
Since its move, Artisan has a new expanded menu with more cheese and charcuterie, pizza, small plates and large plates. The wood-assisted gas oven makes pizzas possible made from Chef Chris Kobayashi’s very own dough recipe.
Artisan’s new interior showcases tables made from one black walnut tree felled in Templeton and repurposed. The dining room is surrounded by reclaimed windows and barn wood with floors of recycled cork.
The ever-changing menu at this popular restaurant continues to support local farmers and purveyors that only practice proper ethics. The story of the Dusi Vineyard began in the early 1920s when the family immigrated from Northern Italy to grow wine grapes in Paso Robles. Grapes aren’t the only thing harvested at Adelaida Cellars. Boasting over 700 acres of walnuts, Adelaida houses one of California’s largest walnut ranches. Barry Lundgren, a local woodworker, will be present to showcase his work creating stunning bowls made from walnut wood.
