B-17 Bomber Tour Coming to Paso Robles

EAA’s B-17 Aluminum Overcast Takes To The Air For EAA’s 2013 National Air Tour; 'Mission' flights, ground tours in historic WWII bomber available.

The Experimental Aircraft Association’s restored B-17 bomber Aluminum Overcast, returns to the sky on April 26 at Zamperini Field in Torrance, Calif., the first of more than 30 stops during the 2013 “Experience History” national tour.

Paso Robles Seeking New Tourism Website

Request for Proposals Available Now

The Travel Paso Robles Alliance (TPRA) is requesting proposals from professional web development and design firms to guide the organization in the creation of a new tourism website.

The TPRA is a group of Paso Robles hoteliers pooling resources to promote and market Paso Robles as a world-class tourism destination. This work is done in partnership with the City of Paso Robles and on behalf of multiple hospitality and stakeholder businesses who serve the visitor.

The ideal website will capture the unique personality of Paso Robles and its varied attractions, appeal to all audiences of area tourism, serve as the tourism resource for visitors to Paso Robles, and provide relevant information to support media inquiries about Paso Robles. This website will replace the current Travelpaso.com site, not overlap it.

Woodland Auto Display Choice of Show Award at the Paso Robles Estrella Museum

Gary and Junie Cooper (pictured) are the first recipients of the Woodland Auto Display Choice of Show Award for the WWW4 car show for their 1947 Triumph 1800 Roadster. Their names are engraved on the perpetual trophy which is on display in the Woodland Building along with their photo.

Warbirds Over Paso Airshow

On September 29th, 2012 Estrella Warbirds Museum, in collaboration with the Planes of Fame museum, will present "Warbirds Over Paso" airshow. The gates will open at 8 a.m. and to kick off the day the North County Cloud Clippers will fly their Radio Controlled Aircraft and Helicopters. There will be static display aircraft to see all day. Between noon and 3 p.m. the Planes of Fame will fly and will carry out their program to the spectators.

WWII Training Aircraft Arriving at Estrella Warbirds Museum

Formation flying clinic scheduled for Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th.

We are expecting at the museum twelve T-6 and two BT-13 aircraft. This is a flying clinic for the pilots for formation flying. They are WWII training aircraft. A few will be showing up Friday evening, but the majority will be coming in Saturday morning. They are planning on the first pilot briefing at 9:00 am and doing 2 flights of 4 aircraft in the morning and the same in the afternoon. The aircraft will be leaving that evening.

New Additions to the Woodland Automobile Collection at Estrella Warbirds Museum

A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever

And this car is beautiful. The latest addition to the Woodland Automobile collection at Estrella Warbirds Museum was built in 2005, however the original was introduced in 1964 to compete in international endurance racing, winning at Le Mans.
