Paso does not go dormant in the Fall or Winter.
Paso Robles is known for its spring and summer events but one thing I’ve been noticing is the number of events that are filling the Fall and Winter season in Paso Robles…which I think is pretty dang cool. After all, just because Fall is upon us doesn’t mean we no longer want to go do stuff, right?
Some of my favorite events coming up are Crush & Roll, which is an awesome cigar and wine event that keeps getting better and better. This is their 4th year coming up September 14th and 15th, and I know for a fact that they’ve really raised the bar this year! Other upcoming events that are always a blast are:
- Taste of Downtown/Arte de Tiza - A great “only in Paso” event; food, wine, and art all in downtown Paso on September 15th.
- Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast- An absolutely amazing event at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch September 27th to the 30th. This event is all about the Central Coast, with a lot of Paso Robles peeps representing!
- Pioneer Day - Another great local event, only in Paso Robles on October 6th! Starts with a parade, includes a bean feed, gymkhana, little cowboy and cowgirl contest. The entire day is FREE!
- Harvest Wine Weekend - This takes place from October 19th to the 21st, and it’s all about Paso Robles wine and harvest!! Each winery will celebrate the end of harvest with their friends and fans.
- Safe and Fun Halloween - This is great for the kids, in downtown on October 31st you can Trick or Treat in the downtown area by visiting the participating stores. It’s a blast walking around checking out all the unique costumes!
- Garagiste Festival - The Garagiste Festival, held at Windfall Farms, is now in its second year and is likely to sell out quickly. Features Paso Robles winemakers who produce less than 1200 cases of wine per year, and an incredible lineup of seminars. A great time!
A few other awesome events are the Paderewski Festival, Elegant Evening Downtown, Downtown Lighting Ceremony (so small town and quaint, Christmas lights in the park), the Christmas Light Parade, and Vine St. Victorian Showcase (they close off Vine St. so you can walk up and down checking out all the amazing Christmas lights).
There are many other events so be sure to check out the events page on the TravelPaso website.
These are just some of the reasons why I’ll never leave Paso Robles. The Fall and Winter months are full of some amazingly “Paso style” events. The community comes together to celebrate the heritage here in Paso Robles, the bountiful harvest, and the Holidays all in a uniquely “Paso way”.
My wife and I try to attend as many of these events as we can, and with our son due October 17th, we hope to have many of these Fall and Winter events be tradition for him as well.
Cheers, and don’t forget to Travel Paso!!
