Since my last post titled “The Top 11 Patios In Paso Robles” went viral, (okay maybe not viral but it seemed to bring out a good amount of conversation) the folks at Travel Paso and I thought a follow up post would be a good idea, since there is clearly an abundance of GREAT patios in Paso Robles.
This list is again dominated by wineries and restaurants but what else do you need when you have food and wine? Well, maybe someone to share it with but other than that, not much!
So here we go:
1) Mondo Cellars- They have a great view due to their placement up on a hill and the patio itself is a blast. There is tons of seating, umbrellas, and wine to go around! Live music on Friday nights still?
2) Halter Ranch – Way out in west Paso Robles surrounded by oak trees filled with Spanish moss, this is a beautiful spot. They have a great patio by their outdoor fireplace so you can soak up the peace and quiet of the country.
3) Mitchella Vineyard & Winery – Located behind Robert Hall Winery this place is perfect for sitting out under their back covered patio and overlooking the vineyards. It’s very relaxing and if you’re lucky you may be able to try some home cooking!
4) Per Cazo Cellars – I really enjoy this patio because it’s literally in their backyard nestled amongst the oak trees on Vineyard Drive. Not much else to say other than it’s really comfortable and I think is a prime example of what people coming to Paso Robles may be looking for.
5) J. Lohr Winery – This is one of the Big Dogs here in Paso Robles but they have this great patio overlooking vineyards and Airport Road. Great spot for a picnic and a glass of wine!
6) Vivant Fine Cheese – They have a rather unique patio because it’s more of a courtyard and it’s absolutely perfect. Located right downtown it’s just a great place to grab a snack of some sort and a glass of wine…I have to admit we don’t get over there as often as we should. It’s a must!
7) Il Cortile Restaurant – This patio may not have the most incredible view in Paso Robles but they have certainly made it extremely cozy. When the weather is windy or rainy they simply put up this clear vinyl material to protect the patio and turn the heaters on…very cool. When the weather is great the vinyl comes down and it’s an open air covered patio…perfect for dinner and wine!
8) Sculpterra Winery – Another one of those pretty unique spots…they have a beautiful facility and tasting room but the thing (or things) that stand out are all the sculptures outside. We’ve been out there a few times and it’s always fun to walk around and check these things out while sipping on some wine! Back behind the tasting room they have this great big area with many spots to sit and just enjoy the surroundings.
9) Cass Winery – They have a great covered patio to hang out at and a fantastic café and cheese assortment in the tasting room. The last time we were out there we enjoyed a few snacks, some wine, and I think I might have partaken in a cigar. Fun spot to hang out for sure!
10) Pear Valley - This is my final one on the list due to the fact that they have numerous outdoor seating areas and everywhere you look it’s vineyard views. The different patio areas give you the choice of many different views all of which are fantastic!
If I missed your favorite, bear with me, we’ll get there eventually. My goal is to only include places that I have actually been to and can personally vouch that the patios are fantastic. As I’ve stated in other articles here on Travel Paso, you just can’t go wrong…the views, the patios, the people, the food and wine…paradise!
The best thing I can leave you with is get out there and explore, find your favorite patios and report back. I’m always looking for new places to go! Cheers!
